When this happened, a HUGE standing sign would be placed right in front of the desk where I sat to sell tickets, saying β€˜POOL CLOSED’. Ambiguous, it was not. People would walk up, stop at the sight of the sign, stand and stare intently at it for several long moments, and then approach the desk and say β€˜So, the pool’s not open then?’ Every. Damn. Time.
