But that’s what the standards are! Being big, taking up space, being clumsy and loud… these things are considered unruly… my relationship with my gender still feels really weird. I’m still trying to figure out what is a gender feeling, and what is just fatphobia. Every time I dress in skirts and frilly things I’m nervous. I feel new, like a child, stumbling around, baby steps. I hope to look in the mirror, and see me. No matter what I’m wearing. That I’m pretty, too.

WOWOW I just gotta leave a comment! Just these snippets have me thinking a lotta thoughts! I cannot believe how much the gender-in-relation-to-fatness thing resonates with me, man! Like…. YEAH. My fatness making me so large in frame–doesn’t help that I’m a bit tall with wide-set shoulders–I’ve always felt too BIG to be feminine… but of course that is going off the idea that femininity is to smallen oneself.
