I love when people are like “I can’t believe you reblogged that despite their user name, icon, bio, and last twenty posts” bc to me my dash is the only part of this website and I’m not slowing down to look at urls you could all be the same person
I keep thinking about the Hocus Pocus sequel but like I don’t think in a good way? I feel like it weirdly is tying in a bow a lot of things I wasn’t even sure I was noticing about the media landscape in general.
I also have loved this movie since 1993 and it has been so funny to see it suddenly get what it deserves in these last few years. I was desperate for Hocus Pocus merchandise in 1993. I would still like dolls that don’t look like Hasbro made them.
So I don’t know what all my thoughts are fully formed quite yet they feel a bit like swirly bits through Jello or something
What I can say firmly though is that the actress they got and the people behind Prosthetics and makeup for her collectively fucking killed it with young Winifred Sanderson. When I looked some things up and read that the actress watched the original movie over 40 times in order to study every single thing about how and when and why Winnie moved I was absolutely not surprised. The dedication and investment was absolutely and completely visible. The other kids were all pretty boring and forgettable from both eras, but teen Winnie did the self imposed homework and was excellent.
