I saw Howl’s Moving Castle once and I didn’t like it!
I think the Monster High reboot looks fun! I was never watching the movies or the cartoons so I don’t have specific attachments to the characters as people I just like how the dolls look. I would be fine getting some of these!
I like non-binary Frankie. I think their doll looks too bulky in the shoulders with all the clothing layers and that there’s too much happening in the shoulder and neck area in general but I think that we can probably be adjusted upon owning a physical doll. I like their metal leg!
I like glasses on Clawdeen! I never liked her much she was always a little too Glam for me and I don’t like animal print, so I never had one of her. I like the molded bits of fur! Maybe I will get one now.
I love chubby triangle bangs Draculaura. The outfit pieces look a little weird by themselves, but it’s a cute look! I was never that into her, but this one is nice!
I have never bought a Cleo doll on purpose because she just never looked like a monster to me. Probably because dead Egyptians aren’t monsters ? I have not great feelings about that in general . She also looked like the kind of like girls who would bully me in high school and I just can’t shake bitchy girl vibes. But I really like the molded wrappings! I have liked that since the last time they tried to reboot this! I always thought they needed to find more ways to commit to each character being a monster even when the doll was not dressed and there it is.
Lagoona was my very first Monster High doll and her appearance now is the most drastically different but we haven’t seen even a photo of the doll so I don’t know whatever. My original doll isn’t going anywhere so I’m interested to see if this one is also one I will like. I don’t like sports clothing but I like fish people.
I don’t care about the dumb pets,I never have, all of my MH pets are just in a box somewhere, I would rather have a stand probably? But I appreciate that they at least look like they belong to the series unlike the ones for Barbie extra that just look like random shit Mattel had in their Library.
I like all the weird little accessories, I like that the bodies aren’t so small and fragile looking! I appreciated the original bodies for being monstrously tiny but I also appreciate these bodies for not doing that! Everything is fine! I like that even though their feet are stuck in fashion doll high heel pose that everybody’s wearing chunky sneakers and shit! I found all of the high heels for the original monster high incredibly beautiful sculpted and I really loved looking at all of them but they were kind of exhausting to imagine everyone walking in!
I just don’t care about everything that everyone is complaining about they look like fun I would like to buy some! That’s it!
Gonna talk about the shit I like more. I think I felt more connected to community and such when I did that. I appreciate how obvious that sounds out of the context of how much my brain hates me
Man, you know what? I guess while we are at the Malik and flirting kind of post, I also get frustrated with interpretations of him as ‘dumb slutty brat.’
I don’t know what the dubs did to him, or to be honest even what the anime did to him, but he was so driven and focused in the manga. And when things were suddenly out of his control, he had such immediate understanding of what he had done wrong along with an equal willingness to atone.
He ends the Yami Malik situation with the most humbled and graceful panel in the whole series, looking like he came out of a shoujo manga about forgiveness.
I guess if you’re thinking of him during his period of anger and what he thought was justice then bratty plays in, but damn he’s so strong and so much wiser at the end of his situation. I feel like that has to be at his core somewhere. He’s not going to be perfectly well adjusted or anything, but he’s already made such serious meaningful movements toward deciding to live his life for his family and in atonement for the things he was caught up in. He’s so young you’d expect more brat, maybe, but he’s so graceful about the end of things, I just don’t see it.
the yugioh wiki list of deaths is funny because its like a list of all the insane fucked things that happen in the manga and it’s always like “was sent to the shadow realm in the 4kids anime” like the localization team looked at that and was like we’re not even gonna go there
Can’t with any fanwork where Marik is depicted as some kind of huge flirt. Marik Ishtar has never kissed a boy in his entire life and everything he knows about romance is directly from either 90s teen movies or whatever age-appropriate lectures Rishid gave him which skirted over most of the impolite details. Marik Ishtar wouldn’t know how to flirt unless he magically rifled through your brain first to figure out exactly what you wanted to hear and then he’d still fuck it up somehow.
