in the Egyptian wing of the museum and my boyfriend is like “what are all the time periods of ancient Egypt” and I’m like predynastic, early dynastic, old kingdom which is when the pyramids were built, first intermediate, middle kingdom, second intermediate, new kingdom which includes amarna period and yugioh, third intermediate, and then all the late period stuff and macedonian and roman eras. and he’s like run that by me one more time
The plastic came right off probably due to a swell combination of age and Heat, which was cool and meant that I didn’t have to have a moment of reconsideration or anything.
I think there are very few things that are as incredibly strong feeling images from that time as all of the Sailor Moon toys being marketed in this deep blue with that logo. I had a t-shirt that was just a blue diamond with this graphic on it and I’ve always loved the way it looks. Seeing that blue in the dolls and toys aisles made me feel like there was hope for the show that I liked and no one else had heard of and it always got me so excited for the potential that if I just bought more things or cared about it a little harder that they would release more!
The version of the set that I had as a kid was of lesser quality to be totally honest! It looked nearly identical from the angle you get in the package but the bristles on the brush just kind of slid on and off the vaguely brush shaped base and were not really even strong enough to go through my cat’s hair let alone mine. The molded Sailor Moon face piece that was glued on to the top fell off very easily at some point, which satisfied my deep curiosity as to how much of the pigtails they had printed underneath - the buns were there too - but then left me with an item that I really couldn’t use or justify in any kind of way, because I was a kid and nobody cared about the stuff that was important to me. So that I wanted to repair something or keep it for sentimental or collector reasons was not something that anybody took seriously.
Anyway, now that I’ve managed to find the Princess Jasmine version of the perfume I’m kind of happy that this stuff smells a little different and I’m considering how I am going to display this I guess!
I’m absolutely more of a dolls, figures, plush and prints kind of person and not really a miscellaneous licensed merchandise sort, but this represents a couple important stops on a journey or two so I’m happy to have it around.

The Sailor Moon cologne smell is not the same. The style of the bristles on the brush that came with it is also totally different than the one that I had as a kid so it’s possible that it’s a different manufacturer or they were just from different runs. A little disappointing but it feels worth it to have checked? I would have been wondering all the time if I hadn’t bought it. And maybe now I have a little more knowledge to get me closer to that one or the extremely elusive Princess Jasmine one that is the real originator of my scent memory.

Time to wish myself luck in getting the fucking mail. I hate how quickly it starts hurting so badly to do normal shit. At the resting for like 20 minutes to psych myself up for going down to circuses going around the front of the house going up the staircase to the mailbox and then tracing that path back
I also have to do a lot of heavy bedding laundry and don’t know how well that’s going to work. Might just… see if someone wants to help me carry all that.
Aj copying Yusaku’s gestures while playing the game is so completely unnecessary but I love that he does it anyway. It feels like he is a whole little guy embodiment of jerking the whole game controller upward to try to make yourself jump higher
