fucked up how colors look different depending on what screen you’re looking at them on. that should be illegal I think

this fucking shit, you know

I spend so much time carefully picking and adjusting the colors in every single drawing I make that I’d probably lose my mind if I didn’t just repeatedly push this out of my memory and pretend it’s not a thing. Why am I reblogging a blank empty post that doesn’t say anything??? Weird

good news! you can’t make sure that everyone will see the correct colors on their own device, but you can make sure your monitor is as accurate as possible for printing and sharing by calibrating it!

there are a bunch of free monitor tests, but here’s an easy one you can use. the passmark and eizo tests are also pretty good, though passmark doesn’t work in your browser. be warned that some tests may cause eye strain.

you can either use the settings built into your monitor itself or use the display color calibration settings in your operating system to adjust the settings until everything looks correct, and then enjoy your accurate colors.

REBLOG TO SAVE A LIFE

Photographers, too. Color calibrate your monitors if you intend to print or sell your work. There’s a ton of info out there for this.

i’m sad bc i love people who are far away from me… i’m delighted by the fact that i live in a world where i can love people who are far away from me… the conundrum of the day

I know the names of cats across the oceans that I may never get the chance to pet, but to know they exist is a gift all it’s own.

When I was a kid, I had two Aunts who crocheted.

One Aunt crocheted a lot of quick, ridiculous doll clothes–she told me she’d start with a rubber band for the waist, then just start crocheting, improvising what she made and what materials she’d use. That Aunt made so many pieces of doll clothes for all the kids in the family who liked fashion dolls.

The other crochet Aunt–who made this dress–made four dresses for me, given all at once for a birthday when I was very young. All of the dresses were this intricate, made with thread this fine, with the other dresses in variegated colors.

And none of them actually fit a Barbie.

I remember putting them on some Skippers, but they were too long, so I didn’t use them for much of anything for years…until I got older and decided I’d cut those dresses apart to be ~punk~ clothes for my Jem dolls. This dress only survived because, without the variegated thread the other dresses used, I’d decided it was too bland.

I won’t judge Young Me for those actions, but I am glad I do still have this dress, as well as now having dolls it will fit.

(And the truth is, for better or for worse, this is what I judge all other crocheted doll clothes against.)

I’ve never seen a crocheted doll outfit I thought looked good until this.

CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ABOUT BISEXUALITY

that purple in the middle is not the right saturation, it doesn’t fit with the other two colors and it drives me crazy.

all right, I think I got this, I’ve got dual citizenship and I have another flag we can borrow from:

i’ll forgive a fat girl for so many annoying things simply because i know how fucking miserable it is to be a fat girl. like. you dont get to exist freely and with any joy until you go through a decades long soul search full of extreme emotional pain OR you nearly kill yourself to become something society might accept. or you toughen up after years of bullying forced you to be more confident. literally there is no painless route to being a fat girl in your 20 somethings. so like. fat girls can be annoying as a treat. you have all been annoying our whole lives

this goes quadruple for fat black girls and fat trans girls btw. literally do not try to tell me anything they do is cringe cuz i’ll demolish you with my giant ass
