I love the indescribable emotional bond you get to characters who you’ve loved since you were a kid/teen it’s like damn little dude we’ve really been through it all haven’t we
cemeteries aren’t creepy they’re actually devoted to memory and rest and love and humanity
The cemetery next door to where my office used to be was so nice this way - there was one gravestone in particular that was specifically done as a nice bench for people to sit on and enjoy the view (or for a pregnant woman to sit and catch her breath while hiking out to the Pokemon gym at the columbarium), and I think more cemeteries should be planned that way.
I have learned over time to never give your characters placeholder names while creating them because while developing them you will absolutely get attached to the name to the point you don’t want to change it and ur epic character will be stuck with the dumbass name forever became it means too much to you
My skeleton centaur warrior with opalized bones is named Liam do not make the mistake I did
I don’t know why, or even how, one would frame a plate. It seems to me that that would sort of remove all functionality of plate-ness. But someone did it and kept it and then donated it, and someone bought it, and the sucker who did the last bit is me. I have this framed plate now. It made me go, “Wow, this is a little stupid and a lot ridiculous. I’m going to put it in my house!” and so I did. It cost me $20, which I am calling money well spent.
A close-up for anyone who wants to try their hand at translation.
Input from a friend of mine with some Egyptology experience
Lol, my first guess just from the painting was Ptolemaic. The symbols in the fake cartouche are similar to Cleopatra’s but out of order.
The image in the plate is often how Cleopatra is depicted.
yep that definitely is the name of Cleopatra. The last few signs look a bit squished into the space there, but that might be just because there’s not enough space
Well hey, mystery solved! Thanks for the help, Egyptologist side of tumblr. Welcome home, Cleoplatera.
Cleopatra but written by a guy hoping to look ambiguous enough to pass a spelling test.
