you’re all sending me asks about alien body parts now i love you guys

I legit read this as ‘tents’ like, pitching one to go camping, and was just like ‘where is she going with this?  is she talking about automatic tents?  whyyyyy would they want to make a tent with their bodies???  Tent dress? Tent pouch?  Did we get our aliens crossed? Is this a hybrid? what is happening???’

I’m good now, but that was a weird three minutes. 

Implying the the remainder of this is not weird, yes, let’s continue. 

Centauri tentacles are definitely somewhat retractable, which we know thanks to the times we were able to see them in canon.  We see them once in action reaching under to the other side of a table, and the distance of the table, plus the passion goddess Li statue that has tentacles makes you figure those things can get up to a few feet long each.  

The next time we see them - on the same man, even, so it’s a good comparison - they’re as ‘at rest’ as they’re going to get, I guess, considering he’s unconscious.   Then they’re just kinda hanging out over his rib cage a little?

These just seem made of more stuff than a snail?  I say this with zero idea of how snails work, I just look at these tentacles and think there is some actual structure or muscle or something in there if he’s got enough control to slip under a table and grab something on the other side.  I mean I’m all about finding ways to jam everyone in corsets, I guess, these things just seemed like they had some real structure to them that I thought would at least be uncomfortable to have lots of pressure on.   I feel like it’s sort of a wonder they’re all in shirt, vest, other vest, coat all the time, but those aren’t designed for smushing quite so much.

And our biggest issue with this was that these are located in such a spot that I feel like even a total retraction point would have left sort of a weird lump in a single layer of smooth fabric, particularly on a dress.   A similar single smooth fabric layer over them laying like we see them here would just be like yeeeaaah, that man sure has some tentacles that are perfectly outlined in this satin.

It’d be nice if they were completely retractable, though!  My silly outfit options become wider and less obscene, haha.

I can’t remember if there are any hand gestures to indicate an area of the body when G’Kar yelled ‘Kiss my pouch!’ as an insult, nor do I recall much of the context of the other instances in which pouches are mentioned.  If anyone else knows, you should probably chime in, you know you want to.  The back was suggested in other thread, but I’m thinking that’s mighty inconvenient for a species that spends most of its time walking upright?  It’s harder to protect and you’d kind of fuck yourself up if you had to put small children in and out of that thing for a while.  Maybe you have some evidence otherwise?
