A proper Centauri dress probably wouldn’t work because corsets + abdominal tentacles = no
I’m thinking maybe one that goes around the neck? Like, a halter/empire dress?
I don’t know I’m Not A Fashion Designer
For real, this is the problem I’m running into everywhere. I think about the 60s when shifts were super popular, but that doesn’t have quite the same vibe as the prom dress ish thing in the original image, and fuck, when you’re putting a middle aged male alien in a 1950s advertisement for fucking trashcans, you really have to consider the vibe.
Clearly they’re able to deal with a little bit of pressure or they wouldn’t all be wearing fancy vests, but yeah, corset is way too far. Frankly, the vests must all just be like a smoothing thing so they aren’t all like Jareth in Labyrinth because I feel like my biggest concern looking at dresses is that if he only has one layer of fabric on anything that is cut like a dress, even if it’s relatively loose, he’s just going to be sort of sitting there with the outlines of tentacles very obviously under satin or something. Everything that seems like it wouldn’t literally smash his limbs also looks really baby doll, which is passing a gross threshold for me AND would not really look that great on him anyway.
the search continues…
Man, the tentacles are really making this difficult.
Wrap dresses don’t really suit the vibe. Possibly something belted, he does wear belted vests sometimes.
A bodice is probably necessary here, with the tentacles in mind, because that wouldn’t squash like a corset but it’d offer coverage.
Ooooor it could be super gathered so there’s no flat cloth over his abdomen?
I was going to recreate the whole image as it was and then this doodle got out of hand AND effectively obscured the shape of the dress I chose too. Oh, well.

Aren’t you guys glad you followed this blog?
*adds this to the pile of pictures of Londo that make no fucking sense without context with the knowledge that this one is borderline even WITH context*
