You know, normally I’m super not on board with this kind of thing for a variety of reasons, but these folks are so alien, and the details we were given about both species’ reproduction made them even more baffling than if we’d known nothing (seahorse possum lizards? vampireteeth with squid limbs attached near their ribcages? wat), and then the spectrum of sex and gender and biological arrangements that people can fall in is so big even in humans that I just shrug like, ‘yeah, okay, i’m down, 300 years of Space Science and alien body arrangements, cool, let me sit here and work up some super vague shit based on slightly less vague shit.’
BUT ANYWAY good for you! I’ve been kind of entranced with how ridiculously wrong that could all go just on a species level, but with them specifically, wow, now there are extra layers of serious medical freak out issues abounding in addition to the generic ones.

You HAVE given this thought. I was stuck at they’re both male. And want to super murder one another.
I would like to make it known that you’re the one who brought up those two in particular and not me, hahaha i was kind of on the general train with this but JMS has a largely horrific gag script for you that could borrow from, minus the gross, to address that problem (assuming we decide male and female mean the same configurations of parts to aliens that they do to us and this is some rabbit hole shit, wow, sorry)
ALL THIS STUFF ASIDE, as for wanting to murder each other, to this i say OH GOD KEEP WATCHING. I can only imagine how much actual trash my sad shipping ass must look like from where you are in the series.

Literally all I can think of when I see this is not stuff like “Why???” but logistical concerns like, “But what kind of neckline would suit him and what sort of cut would it require to not be weird with the tentacles?” and “Could there be an actual story behind this? What is the MOOD behind sitting in a dress with trash cans?”
Good, because that’s exactly what I’m going for with this kind of thing. The joke is the garbage cans, the dress is just setting the scene.
Also, it was inspired by this post so presumably that’s the dress he’s wearing. The color wouldn’t look that great on him, though.
He really looks kind of terrible in white, doesn’t he? He’s so well-suited to rich jewel tones - all that purple and dark blue he wears looks really nice on him.
I’m looking a the neckline on that thing and it doesn’t even looking particularly good on the model, it’s going to look less great on Londo. The dress just looks like tissue paper.
I think I’ve just remembered a Barbie dress from ten or fifteen years ago that might solve most of these problems, if I can remember what it was called. Solving the problem of ‘That dress would look bad on Londo’, yes, what a great problem to have.
This feels like a fruit hat situation, like, I could make sitting on stairs with trashcans in a dress work and have a reason. Not that I even need one, but I relish the idea that I could FIND one.

Thank you, yes, I’ve been thinking about this for a week. It was like I just went off the rails, I was like “Covered in spots with tiny fangs and awkward hair! Possibly also some other really baffling anatomy! Do they end up with red eyes?? Some do, some don’t??? AM I CONTEMPLATING MORE THAN ONE?”
And then I sat there being a downer on myself, like, ‘Well, if we didn’t see or hear of any, they probably can’t happen, because when you’re destroying people’s worlds for a few hundred years, you’re probably also … yeah. There should be some unfortunate war babies. So they probably aren’t compatible to the point of making offspring. And if they were, they’re probably all sterile like mules or don’t live super long.”
And then I was firmly back in don’t care land and I have thought for AGES about weird health problems and how difficult a hybrid would be to even have depending on which parent does what, how hard to then keep alive, keep well-adjusted….
Definitely want to draw this jazz.

I know there’s no way all of these species are compatible but I just don’t care, I want hybrids of everything. I want to sit and figure out how the fuck to smush all these features together onto one person, and then I want them all to sit and have some existential angst about it.
