Yeah, I’d be pretty jazzed to do that, honestly. We could set up something in Livestream, even. Then it’s live and you can ask me about all the shit I’ve undoubtedly forgotten.

The funny thing when you know how to do something is that sometimes you can’t remember what you used to not know, and you have no idea what you actually DO know. So I find I learn from trying to teach all the time.
Let me know what you’re interested in learning, or specific problems you’re having. Then I can figure out what the hell I know that can address it, haha. I feel like a video well be most useful regardless of whether you watch me make it live or not, but let me know if that idea appeals to you! I don’t have anything going on this weekend that I know of, so we could even do it then if that suits you. I was thinking I wanted to stream something soon anyway, so this could work out!
(You may also want to request a particular subject matter for me showing you stuff, otherwise you’re at my mercy and could end up with Banshee, Londo, Garak, or Johnny indirectly teaching you to make space backgrounds or whatever. You may still be at that mercy depending on what is on my list, but it doesn’t hurt to try to skew it in your favor haha.)
I can’t access live stream right now, and it’s been finicky for me lately regarding saving shit, but my first and so far only traditional livestream video was water color and had me talking a lot about what I’m doing. It might be up in my video library if you want to look at that.
SO hey, this is a thing that will be done! Probably this weekend, since next weekend I’ll be at Gallifrey.
But just in case other people want to attend a session of ‘Lady tries to teach things’ vs. ‘Lady screams about aliens and draws on the wrong layer’, now you know about it.
I don’t have a specific time or even a specific topic yet - I’d mostly get those from the person who first brought that up - but if you have time for me, maybe consider it~!oh my gosh, thank you so much in advance. What times/days are good for you? And Il’l def check out your video library! But oh man can there be Garak or Bashir or Star Trek as the subject matter? And as for topic … honestly, anyything to do with coloring, you know? Like, how do you paint it and not have colors bleed into one another? How do you do backgrounds? Just general stuff, stuff like that.

Pretty much any time Saturday and Sunday! I do pretty much nothing but paint on the weekends anyhow. I’m on eastern time in the US, that would probably be helpful to know. I can also do this after like, 6:30pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. (This is not so this coming week because I’m at Gallifrey from Thursday to Monday, but it’s true for a normal week.)
Haha, we can try to make this a Garak time. He’s a weird demonstration in’using the same fucking color for everything’, but we can probably roll with that.

It’s okay, we’ll be fine. I figured I’d need multiple small subjects versus one large one, so I’m just going to make a few heads, and I’ve already got the Garak one ready, so he’ll be present~ You may have to bear a Londo or a Banshee, but I bet I could get a Bashir in the mix too. I was actually thinking about what characters would work best to demonstrate different things the other day, and I thought they were a good mix of skin tones, textures, fiddly details, and all relevant to space backgrounds so maybe we’ll all learn something, haha. (I also learned my new pen is not waterproof, wah wuh)
This weekend doesn’t work since I’ll be at Gallifrey One Thurs-Mon, but the weekend of the 20-22, we’d be fine!
like. stories about facing heterosexism and cissexism, coming out, being young and finding your identity, etc, have their place and can be important, but at a certain point you’re like. enough. you just start wanting to see LGBTQ characters battling in space ships or fighting dragons or being charismatic spies or any of the thousands of things straight cis people get to do in stories.

Just, shit, that I can help someone with all the stuff that tortured me for years? I really needed a actual human talking about it extensively, or even just in contexts that made sense to me. I think instead I found the term on some ancient forum and I knew no one else, just that it was a thing that existed. It’s hard to feel valid like that. That someone can say, ‘Yeah, the discussions you were having helped me figure out some part of me.’ That’s so fantastic! I’m so glad all these discussions have helped people or taught people something or ANYTHING like that. Anytime I worry about annoying people with all this, I think of hearing things like this. I love getting messages about things like this, really, thank you so much for telling me, I’m so glad it’s made you feel so good!
(And thank you for the lovely words about my work~! I’ve been feeling so much better about it lately because of all of you guys.
