fuck work in the morning, i am finishing painting~
i’m about to learn if I can use frisket on the paper in my sketchbook, haha
tinsnip replied to your photo:Another Amano-ish Londo in quick sketch format…
Londo is such an Amano character. Now I wanna see his sprite.
Hahaha, but imagine how much effort would need to go into cramming his hair into pixel form
(oh god window sitter otaku mascots)
and seriously, i just want to paint him covered in miscellaneous patterned, beaded, and shiny garbage FOREVER
I’m doing an illustration of something I read on AO3 because it was this perfect smashing together of things I enjoy (surreal imagery, aliens having no idea what the fuck, a juxtaposition of happy/sweet and devastatingly sad, etc etc. I’m so down, and I can grab most of it in a single image. I am sold.) and even in that he’s going to end up with more flashy junk than is really necessary, haha.
The only disconnect I get is that his personality is so lively and wacky and the things I love about Amano’s work are sort of the elegant and flowing bits, so he only jives with the style (or my pale flailing in vague imitation inspiration of it) in late seasons when things have really worn him down. Also, it’s not like he’s Terra and is a half-magical creature beautiful ethereal twig-like 18 year old thing. I adore him, but he’s not one of Amano’s wispy fairy people. I don’t want to make him thin or glamorous, so it’s a balance.
Which I think is why I’m so obsessed with it! I’m not satisfied with how my first foray into that went, so I am still trying.
(I also started a Garak like those drawings today, but then my brush slipped and he ended up with a big black smear mouth and what looks like a tiny mustache, so I stopped, haha.)
This commission is a gift from tinsnip to cosmictuesdays inspired by a conversation they had about Deep Dish Nine Julian in some extremely loud pjs. Elim is still deeply fond of him, it turns out, horrific though the spectacle might be~
Here is a commission post, though I’ll be revising that info soon!

AHAHAHAhahahah, Anon, that is like the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time!
My usual Eurovision mode of operation is a Skype chat with friends and it is usually Fucking Hilarious, though this year I’m looking to end up in Canada with my favorite friend-human to watch it in person-ish with her! So I don’t know how much liveblogging I’d be able to do, but fuck if someone saying “I would sit and listen to you talk and shriek about something you adore for three hours” isn’t legit like the most flattering fucking thing, thank you!
We shall see, dearest Anon, we shall see~
