Oh, thank you! I always feel this weird combination of mortification and delight when people tell me they’ve just read SWAN, because on one hand, it is old as balls, especially in the beginning, and on the other, it’s something that’s (obviously) stuck with me a long time and is pretty important to me. The sequel story, ISH, only exists because I wasn’t ready to let go of that world yet when I finished SWAN. And obviously I’m making this giant remix-y version to do deeper and better things than the first time, so it’s clearly not left me alone in all this time. I hope you read the reSWAN stuff and ISH if you haven’t already, because they’re the better part of the story from where I’m sitting, haha.
I think everyone who writes things gets a sick sort of joy from hearing that they made someone sad, so I’m glad you told me that too~~
