FILLER-FREE SAILOR MOON EPISODE GUIDE

Eps which are NOT italicized are episodes vital to watch to follow what’s going on. The ones that ARE italicized are largely filler except for a power-up or a new villain taking over or whatever. The italics part is largely by memory but I’ve watched the entirety of this show like 20 times so I could suffer where you may not have to.

Please note that I list the ‘plot events’ of the episode so you can judge if you want to bother watching, and thus, occasional spoilers, but I doubt much of this would surprise you in the eps themselves (like half the eps where someone dies is titled, at the start of the ep “SHIT HAPPENS! BAD GUY IS KILLED!” or whatever.)

Episode #31 (English dub #27) - I don’t care if this is filler it is the best episode of the entire fucking series except maybe for that one where Seiya gets a pie in the face. Luna has to deal with the attentions of an obese cat called Rhett Butler.
Episode #33 (English dub #29) - Venus joins the team.
Episode #34 (English dub #30) - Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask reveal their true identities to each other.
Episode #35 (English dub #31) - Past life flashbacks, dark kingdom kidnaps Mamoru, Zoisite destroyed, Kunzite flips his shit.
Episode #36 (English dub #32) - Brainwashed Tuxedo Mask shows up for the first time. (Though the rest of the episode is kinda bleh so as long as you know that he shows up and is evil skip this one??)
Episode #44 (English dub #39) - The Senshi go to the Moon Kingdom and learn about their past. Kunzite destroyed.
Episode #45 (English Dub #40) - Final battle vs Queen Beryl pt 1
Episode #46 (English dub #40) - Final battle vs Queen Beryl pt 2

If you watch nothing else in season 1, watch eps 44-46. Those are the best and most well-written and plot-filled episodes of the season.

Sailor Moon Season 2 (Sailor Moon R)
Note that SMR has two major story arcs in it - the Ail and Ann story (which is basically the incestuous alien love fest arc), and the Black Moon Family story (which also has a surprisingly large amount of alien incest— NO I KID). I actually think the Ail and Ann story is pretty fun as a whole so check it out but it is also not super plot intensive so I’m not listing a lot of it, hey.

Episode #48 (English dub #42) - Everyone else regain their memories.
Episode #49 (English dub #43) - Moonlight Knight first appearance

Episode #85 (English dub #78) - Chibiusa brainwashed and aged-up in order to seduce her own father.
Episode #86 (English dub #79) - Saphir discovers the truth but is destroyed.
Episode #87 (English dub #80) - Dimande kidnaps Usagi again; is destroyed.
Episode #88 (English dub #81) - Final battle vs Death Phantom

If you watch nothing else in this, watch either 85-88 or 87-88. That’s the hard-hitting plot arc segment.

Season 3 (Sailor Moon Super (Or Sailormoon S))
It’s hard not to recommend everything for Haruka and Michiru antics or talking about kisses or everyone getting girlcrushes but I AM HERE FOR A PURPOSE. But yeah this is a good season for lesbian crushes. If you want a list of the best eps for girl flirting I can do that too just let me know. Also the filler this season is pretty fun — it’s a pretty strong season overall. BUT this list is for a reason.

Also, If you want to jump into this season without watching the first two seasons, episode 89 is a recap of seasons 1-2.

I’m not listing the equivalent dub ep numbers from here because wikipedia doesn’t.

Episode #90 - New enemies appear, sailor moon can’t fight, new Senshi show up to do so instead.
Episode #91 - Sailor moon gets a power-up.
Episode #92 - OH MAI THAT HARUKA IS SO HANDSOME OH MAI OH MAI /fans self. er, introducing Haruka and Michiru
Episode #101 - Part 1 of showdown with Kaolinite
Episode #102 - Part 2 of showdown with Kaolinite
Episode #103 - Chibiusa returns from the future to help out. Eudial takes over bad guy-ing.
Episode #106 - the “How Haruka and Michiru met” flashback episode; I’m counting this as plot since Haruka-Michiru are semi-antagonists at first and this sets up their motivations.
(Episode #109 - is not important but is the most fucking hilarious episode of the season.)
Episode #110 - The talismans are discovered. Haruka and Michiru are lured into a trap.
Episode #111 - The Holy Grail appears. Eudial destroyed.
Episode #112 - Introducing Hotaru. Mimete takes over bad-guying.
Episode #113 - Haruka and Michiru have srs talks with Mamoru and the plot thickens with Hotaru’s family. The messiah of silence appears.
Episode #115 - Hotaru shows signs of being really super human with powers of distruction. Haruka is naked in this episode for around a second and a half and you see her butt. LOOK I HAVE PRIORITIES.
Episode #119 - Saturn’s symbol appears on Hotaru so the outers try to kill her because she’s the harbinger of destruction.
Episode #120 - Tellu introduced. Mimete destroyed.
Episode #121 - Tellu destroyed. Senshi investigate Mugen Academy. Viluy introduced.
Episode #122 - Viluy destroyed. Cyprine and Pitiriol introduced.
Episode #123 - Cyprine and Pitiriol destroyed. Chibiusa abducted. Hotaru becomes Mistress Nine.
Episode #124 - Mugen Academy becomes fortified. Sailor Moon abducted. Pluto destroys herself. Uranus and Neptune take on the daimon possessing Tomoe.
Episode #125 - Mistress Nine gets the grail and summons Pharoh Ninety. Hotaru becomes Saturn to sacrifice herself to fight the villain.
Episode #126 - Epilogue episode. Deals with the aftermath.
Episode #127 - Chibiusa returns to the future, then travels back to the past after ageing up a few years and powering up.

If you watch no other episodes, watch 110-111 and 124-126.

Sailor Moon Season 4 (Sailor Moon SuperS)
Personally I found large parts of this season a bit uncomfy (a lot of the pure dream images stuff is sexualized with badguys prodding around in them while they squirm and yell) but there’s also parts I love. Just a ymmv on some of this. However this season has a huge advantage of not ONE BAD GUY AT A TIME FOR TWELVE EPISODES IN A ROW but teams of badguys working together and taking turns. (The downside of this is there’s fewer eps to list because no big ‘one badguy defeated, another takes their place’ eps).

If you skip to this season, look for the Sailor Moon SuperS Special, because it has a recap of seasons 1-3. And also has a Haruka and Michiru thing.

Episode #128 - Dead moon circus appears, Amazon Trio take action, Pegasus appears.
Episode #130 - Pegasus gives dreams to Chibiusa and he also powers up Sailor Moon and Sailor chibimoon.
Episode #133 - Diana appears. Artimis’s reputation is stained by scandalous rumors of his love affair with a nun. I can’t make this shit up.
Episode #143 - All the Sailor Senshi get power-ups.
Episode #148 - Fisheye starts to get suspicious about not being human and starts looking for a way to fix that.
Episode #149 - End of the Amazon Trio. Good episode.
Episode #150 - Introducing the Amazoness Quartet
Episode #151 - Mercury’s new transformation/attacks shown.
Episode #152 - Mars’s new transformation/attacks shown.
Episode #154 - Jupiter & Venus’s new transformation/attacks shown.
Episode #158 - Chibiusa’s steamy love affair with a flying horse. I mean, Chibiusa has to choose between childish dreams and an adult relationship with Helios.
Episode #161 - Nehelenia plunges the city into darkness, endangering Mamoru’s life. The Quartest and the Senshi learn each other’s identity.
Episode #162 - Amazoness Quartet get a powerup and defeat the Senshi.
Episode #163 - The Senshi struggle against Zirconia. Chibimoon gets captured.
Episode #164 - Amazoness Quartet free themselves from Nehelenia. Nehelenia breaks free from her prison and forces Helios to give up the Golden Crystal
Episode #165 - Showdown with Nehelenia pt 1
Episode #166 - Showdown with Nehelenia pt 2.

If you only watch a few from this season watch 148-149 and 165-166.

Sailor Moon Season 5 (Sailor Stars)
This is my favorite season so it’s hard not to list everything ‘-‘. Because it has everything I love in it. Like S, it’s a season where even the filler is pretty enjoyable.

Episodes #167-#172 - This is a mini-arc where Galaxia immediately revives Nehelenia again, who seeks to get her revenge on Earth in a plot written as homage to The Snow Queen fairytale. There’s no filler in this mini-arc and I think it’s quite good as a whole, so listing it here as a single unit. Reunites the inner and outer senshi, gives the Outers a power-up, gives Usagi her Eternal transformation, etc.
Episode #173 - Mamoru gets exploded, the Three Lights/Starlights appear, new enemies arrive. Sailor Iron Mouse takes the badguy mission lead.
Episode #174 - The Three Lights join Usagi’s school. The enemy of the day fights with balls of sweat.
Episode #180 - Michiru and Haruka start to investigate the Three Lights
Episode #181 - Usagi and Seiya go on a thoroughly enjoyable date. Iron Mouse destroyed.
Episode #182 - ChibiChibi appears. Aluminum Siren and Lead Crow appear.
Episode #184 - Seiya gets Usagi alone to try to confess to being Starfighter, but everyone piles into Usagi’s house to prevent her and Seiya from having sex, and Seiya takes a pie to the face.
Episode #188 - the Sailor team and Starlights are forced to reveal their identities to each other when they fall into a trap. Aluminum Siren destroyed.
Episode #189 - Lead Crow vows to get revenge for Siren. Romantic entanglements deepen between Seiya and Usagi, despite the resistence from Usagi’s friends.
Episode #190 - Outer Senshi and Starlights reveal identities to each other while the Outers warn the Starlights off. Seiya manages to secretly reveal the truth of their home planet’s destruction to Usagi.
Episode #193 - Usagi sacrifices herself to save innocent bystanders, but the Fireball Princess shows up and saves her. Lead Crow betrayed. Tin Nyanko takes over badguying.
Episode #194 - The Fireball Princess reveals what Galaxia is trying to do, Nyanko gets half-purified. Usagi stops being able to cope with Mamoru being missing.
Episode #195 - Nyanko destroyed. The Fireball Princess sacrifices herself.
Episode #196 - Galaxia attacks earth. The Senshi get taken down.
Episode #197 - Usagi learns what happens to Mamoru, and Neptune and Uranus turn on their fellow Senshi.
Episode #198 - Fight vs Galaxia. More losses to the team. TEAR JERKER EPISODE.
Episode #199 - The last stand vs Galaxia.
Episode #200 - Last stand vs Galaxia continues. Last episode of the entire series.

If you watch nothing else, watch 167-172 and 196-200. …and 184 because it is epic.

Can you imagine Bertie with a smartphone, though?  Taking photos of Jeeves the moment he opens the door, hoping to catch a rare sighting of Jeeves surprised ‘on film’.   Taking videos with only consist of Jeeves doing something mundane and Bertie talking like you do to your cat who stopped doing something interesting the moment you began recording.  ”You were just doing it! Please?” “No, sir.”  There’d be videos his friends took, Claude and Eustace’s selfies after they stole the thing for a while (which he puts on Tumblr upon recovery of the phone, captioned as ‘Dirty Thieves - Wanted For Crimes Against The Code of The Woosters   Do not approach, and be careful when thinking, in the spirit of familial charity, that you might lend a cousin in need the quick usage of your mobile.’)

I would love Bertie with a tumblr.  It might be interesting to see an AU in which modern technology plugged right along, but the whole serving class thing vanishing did not.  I’d love to see Bertie interact with this technology, but there are few ways to bring Jeeves and his position forward in time with him other than just pretend it still exists or invent some weird ‘personal assistant’ or something.

Gussie has a very detailed blog about his newts.  Madeline has a blog that’s supposed to be poetry, but is mostly full of pictures of bunnies, and collected “evidence” that faeries are real.  Bingo Little has had about ten different tumblrs, and for some strange reason has deleted all of them except for the most recent one, which is called Bingo Round the Rosie.
