Friendly, Flirting or (I have been living in a) Forest
As in, is this new person being nice because they are friendly, because they are flirting, or because I’ve been living in a forest away from people for so long that my ability to tell the difference has become even worse and I am just completely loopy for human interaction.

So our computers at work went down for maintenance yesterday, and my supervisor is pretty sure they’ll be out for 24 hours, so she literally hasn’t even bothered to schedule doing anything with me today and told me just to expect to maybe get something done on Friday. The most I’ll do today is file some random shit, but since no one else can use a computer either, the amount that will come up finished to file is probably minimal.
It’s a little frustrating to have to report somewhere else to sit around and write and draw and generically fuck around when I could do that very well here. And on a comfy couch instead of a dirty, broken office chair, even.
(Also, I’m really pleased by how many of you liked that post about me not going to the thing last night, that was really kind of sweet.)

This chapter doesn’t have a direct parallel to the original version of the story at all! Everything in here is new, which made it a lot of fun to do and explore. (I say ‘fun’ about all of them, but they really have been. That’s how there’s even so many!)

i am alone with the writing i have to edit, some pizza, and no babies, no alcohol, no endless jokes about sex or obsessions with gyms
the feeling of not going and sitting through that again is almost as good as if something actually positive had happened, rather than the absence of something negative.
