I feel the same!   I’d like to have conversations that weren’t at the mercy of a buggy ask box or forced to be reblogged in everyone’s face a million times.  I don’t have any grand delusions of having huge talks on LJ because it is like fucking Centralia over there, but it would be nice!

and that is why I haven’t given up on lj. Tumblr is fun, but I enjoy talking with the friends I have on LJ. Traffic to the site has certainly gone down, but there’s still a really active and vibrant community there.

I have seen zero evidence of this community! I would like to find some of it!  Anywhere I used to post is dead now, and anywhere I’d want to post seems to be just as dead.  The Garak and Bashir community is like pulling teeth, the Jeeves one is pretty dusty. There was never much of a Johnny thing there ever that was friendly.  My dash friends page is literally one woman who I want to contact again just for the fuck of ‘Hey, we both seem to have had a resurgance of old shit recently, are we still cool? I can’t remember if I did something to piss you off but I still like you!’, and then like three communities about trading recordings of musicals.
