I always took it to mean ‘define pure’ as in ‘we’re all mutated we’re all different, there is no single perfect narn or human or centauri’. Because like, everyone’s just a lil bit away from baseline. I kinda like yours a lot though.
It became clear that this was what they meant as the episode progressed, but I think the first drop of the concept was rushed and blurred through and I was really excited that everyone might be hybrids!
I still feel like it was a little forced? Like if humans were to make a weapon like these aliens did, we wouldn’t say, “Okay, skin color and with this genetic makeup, and these precise organs, and this certain brain pathway” it’d be like, ‘breathes oxygen and has iron-based blood and porous skin’ or something like that and then when something like, methane breathing, copper blooded, plated lizards or something show up, it’s clear what’s going on.
The analogy to WW2 they were trying to make was a little limp for me, I guess. Especially when it was all delivered in one big word vomit pile by the doctor at warp speed.
I’m glad you like the hybrid idea though :P I’d like to keep entertaining it as a delusion, even though these people are still too racist toward non-humans for that to be a thing, haha.

For real! Like it’s a 90s thing that I’m getting used to in general to get this kind of intense music cue when the scene changes, but it’s like someone buzzing in my ear every time the screen cuts, it’s outrageous.
I like the sort of atmosphere they’re going for with this humming drone noise coming up so often, I think it’s their ‘This is the station living in empty space’ noise, and it’s clever, if a bit sterile, but they need to stop assaulting my ear drums with it! I’d like the sound otherwise, I think.

I think I wish there were more color in this show in general. I felt an immediate fondness for Delenn because she was so colorful. I haven’t seen her since, of course, but still.

This feels like the episode of TNG where some dude wanted Picard to go off and have archaeological adventures.
