Want.
For you, and anyone else interested, the crackling wick soy candles are called ‘EcoWix’ and you can buy them in strange locations like here and here online. My mom found mine in a TJMaxx, and other people are reporting that they’re in some Kroger and Safeway stores, and Lowe’s of all places.
The scent in mine is really nice, not overpowering, but not so subtle that there’s no reason to burn the thing. No idea what scent it is, but it’s a kind of peachy color. I don’t think I see it online anywhere. Plus it sounds like a campfire in my bedroom without me needing to burn my bed to the ground.
There’s also apparently this brand, Woodwick candles that reportedly do the same thing, and they appear to be still going? EcoWix seems like it doesn’t really exist now anymore except for strange discount stores and stuff. GIven the shape of the jar, they have just merged or something.
My mom bought me a soy candle with a wooden wick inside it that crackles like a fireplace when you light it, and I am just enchanted with it. I can’t believe it makes this much noise, it’s wild.

I tried to show my aunt’s husband how totally ridiculously bad the website for finding info about the art show was, and it seems that me emailing someone to get information/complain back when I was first looking has resulted in them making a functional website, but never emailing me back.
Classy~
Found the info anyway, obviously, but wow.
I’m so weirdly enchanted by the pictures from last year because it’s so dorky and small and the photos are baffling and there’s no instruction about anything. I’ll try to blog a bit from the artist’s reception night if it’s suitably embarrassing, and probably even if it isn’t. Surely you’re all very interested in how rural ass town in the middle of nothing conducts an art show, right?
The entry for “pineapple” in Ord, which is a website that translates words into other languages via the sidelinks on Wikipedia articles. My favourite part, from the origin story, is that Ord sorts the results by Levenshtein distance:
One last thing: Let’s try to sort the results by etymological similarity.[…]
Levenshtein distance between two words is the minimum number of single-character edits (insertions, deletions or substitutions) required to change one word into the other.
We can use it to determine how similar (or different) two words are.
For example, each of the following arrows indicates a Levenshtein distance of one:
Of course, based on this input, Levenshtein distance can only be calculated for orthography, not pronunciation, and doesn’t fare well with languages that don’t use the Latin alphabet, but it’s more interesting than just listing them alphabetically or something.

i find it interesting that when it comes to liking girls I’m just like GIRLS ALL GIRLS YES PERFECT GIRLS but with boys i’m like you must fit criteria 1-9 but 9 is optional only if you completely fill criteria 10-13 with a non-optional essay on 21st century sexism due by 5am
#I fall in love with random girls all over the place #but then my friend will be like ‘look how hot that guy is!’ #and I’ll be like yes but what are his political affiliations
