Have you seen Pushing Daisies? Because it is ALL kinds of awesome.

I haven’t! Tumblr only recently alerted me to it being something that I might enjoy, but I didn’t get a chance to download it when I had real internet. I’ll have some next week, though, so that might be on my list.

I am notoriously hard to get into new things for a variety of reasons, so I had to sit and really prep myself for watching a new show and I feel so betrayed, haha. I’ll have to psyche myself up again to start a new one.

You guys should have seen him, he was so much like Garak (even DD9 Garak - he had his nose and his huge eyebrows and reading glasses and a dirty version of his wardrobe and hair). I may post hilariously similar screencaps later.

Alas.

So far, it seems that this show is trying to hit a bunch of ‘this is what sci-fi does’ buttons, but it is doing it without any authenticity. It’s just doing some sci-fi tropes because someone thinks they should, not because anyone has anything to say.

You guys should recommend me something. I have a bunch of shows sort of poised for the exploring on my external and I’m now giving them all the side eye wondering if they’re going to treat me like this show has.

I tried watching Defiance a year ago . . when I realized how much the brothel and heteronormativity was going to be a factor I just sort of faded out…

I feel you. I think I’ll keep this on while I paint just to see the doctor and then just check out. Someone make a version of this show about her, though, and I’m on board. I’m so disappointed! I wanted to like this!
