Aww, Anon, that is both sweet of you to say about me and makes me worry you are putting unnecessary weight on you!
I don’t know your situation, but I’ve got a college degree in this drawing nonsense, and am older than a large portion of the tumblr demographic, which may help you in the land of personal expectation. When people half my age show up here sad they don’t draw in some way like me, I’m always so “WAIT NO, DO NOT DO THIS THING, here I will show you some shit I made in junior high”
Not that I am assuming your age, oh Anon, but it may feel better to think, ‘Oh, okay, this woman has twenty plus years of drawing time in and actually found it worthwhile to pay to learn to do it more.'
I will not give you the same lecture you find other places about 'practice, practice’ and 'it’s about the journey’ and such because you have probably heard it before and it’s not stuff I find anyone takes to heart until they realize they’ve already done it. It is actual Work learning to art, and you often need to sacrifice some things to get especially good at a specific thing like this. Good luck, if that is a thing you are after, ask about art things if you like (I will pretend to be very sage-like while still not knowing all the things), and thank you for the compliment!
Spent all day at cottage with tinsnip who is so fabulous that I still consider that I’ve had a fantastic day even though I ruined the painting I’ve been working on for a week and got another job rejection letter! The best of times, quality human all around.
Pizza, pie, getting locked out of cars, eating pie in the grass by a parkinglot, walking through crafty stores, squealing in high pitched glass-scraping frustration over Siddig existing, flailing in agonized despair over ‘Profit and Lace’, flailing meaningfully at 'The Wire’, more pie.
A+, would friend again.

I feel like Doctor Who is being really misleading. The trailer/promo makes it look like Twelve is going to be really dark yet the filming photos say something entirely different:
