forgive lack of extreme meme posting today, i was deep dish nine-ing~ The rest of this to follow when I finish all its parts!
nice work with the eyes! What medium did you use here?
It’s digital! Some of the same Photoshop brushes I posted a few days ago.
Interesting. I thought it might be a more physical medium because it looks like it was done on canvas.
Finding ways to get my digital art to look more like my physical art has been one of my goals lately, so I’m sort of glad it looks a bit deceptive! I’ve sort of historically been lukewarm about digital art because I really preferred the slight loss of control in physical media and that it involved more of me flailing at it and getting dirty. It just felt like a better place for expression and release. I’m not getting dirty making these sorts of digital paintings, but they are more satisfying to make now and they feel more like me. As it is, I’m looking forward to going back to watercolor and letting it start looking as chaotic as the digital things I’ve been doing for this art meme!
I love watercolors, but I’ve never had a chance to learn. I’ve had to make due with oil.
I’m the exact opposite! I had a chance to take oil classes while in school, but watercolor was just more practical for my degree and I couldn’t afford the oil supplies! I’ve never even touched oil paints, but I’d be really intrigued to try it one day if I didn’t have to commit so heavily financially in order to give it a whirl.
Meanwhile, I loathed watercolor in school to the point that I was known for it, and then one day in 2009 something just clicked over and it was my best friend. Nearly everything I make is watercolor now. So many instructors would be shocked if they saw.
