The first time I saw him in a vest was the first time I made a really overblown comic gasp, I just could not believe it wasn’t jumpsuit AND he was finally allowed to look like a lovely adult.

whew, my internet works again

I couldn’t use it for most of the day because it was raining.

This will give you an idea of what I deal with most of the time.

Anonymous asked: Oh my gosh I love it when you do those colorful/bloody banshee paintings! Will you ever sell shirts with those designs on them? (and are you ever gonna draw the ol' homicides again?)

The Homicides are probably going to happen as art again, yeah.   I was just telling someone the other day that, hilariously enough, the kind of work I’m doing now is more suited to them than the art I was making when I was actively working with them. Everything I do now is covered in rainbow neon sparkles and blood annnnd … that pretty much describes them?

As for Banshee, thank you for saying so! As I said the other day, I mostly understand that people tolerate me painting her and things like her and don’t love her or that kind of art the way I do, though I long for that not to be the case. I’d love a real audience for that stuff.

I hadn’t ever really thought of putting her on a shirt because of that. It didn’t seem like something people would want, and for some reason that felt more commercial to me than putting her face on a phone case. Maybe it was even not wanting to give her up to be something that could be so closely associated with another person as something wearable on their own bodies.  I’m aware this is a little weird, but I think my relationship with Banshee is a bit weird.

That said, I can’t think of many images of her that wouldn’t get you kicked out of a lot of places for wearing angry aggressive nudity right on your person.   I definitely have some of the Banshee images in my Society6 store, just not on apparel.

Which images would you want on a shirt? Or what kind of Banshee image do you think would be suited to one?

According to Penny Juday, Star Trek Archivist these glasses are just candle holders that they flipped upside down.

They were frequently seen stacked behind the bar in Quark’s.

Unfortunately we never found out where the prop department obtained the candle holders. Cristal de Sevres makes a style of glass called “Keos” that is a very similar shape. They are however Hella Expensive cause they’re crystal .

My family has very similar glasses!

Terrance Houle: Urban Indian Series (2004),

Born December 9, 1975, in Calgary. Lives and works in Calgary. In a practice that ranges from performance to photography to film and video works, Blackfoot artist Terrance Houle remakes the troubled history of colonialism and First Nations identity with a roguish wit and punk-rock edge. His strategy matches self-deprecating humour with an uneasy undertone; the results cut away at both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal notions of an urban Indian status quo. In his Urban Indian Series (2004), Houle is pictured grocery shopping, working in an office cubicle and riding public transit—all in elaborate powwow regalia.

In the performance video Friend or Foe (2010–11), he plays off cultural and historical gaps in communication while dressed in a loincloth and communicating by sign language.
