I have returned from my most self reflective Gallifrey One ever
It’s very easy to get stuck wallowing in how sad you are that an event you normally share with friends is now something you have to do solo, but if you look at it from the other angle it’s a unique opportunity to learn things about you and the stuff you do by yourself.
You learn about the spots where you have a weakness and you learn that one of your other friends has been compensating for that for you, or you appreciate that you don’t have to tell anybody or consider anything when you have a sudden change of plans. You go where you like. You learn what things you are doing because you feel like you should do them because you are in the presence of other people you want to make happy and what things you’re doing because they’re making you happy. Some of those things are the same which makes things great, and some of those things are different and just are a moment for observation.
I still leave every year with a renewed sense of expectation and enthusiasm. I want to watch some Seventh Doctor stories very much because I love Sylvester McCoy and his liberal agenda haha. Every time I see him in person I want to watch more of his doctor.
This trip felt like going to the movies by yourself but expert mode. Things were learned and every where you look you find a small perk that keeps you thinking and observing.
The birthday massacre concert is this week. I’ll be doing that alone too. Can’t wait to see them. Hopefully sciatica muscle fuck up adventure leg gets a steady schedule
