Ryou/Malik Buttons~
I probably won’t bother making many more than this, because I can’t imagine there are that many of us who would like a button. But still a button for my favorite pair of card game boys 💙💜
Today I
Got up early and worked on a job application in a cafe,
And!
Went wondering in a nearby antique store as a
rewardwarm up, where I found ONE INTACT ORIGINAL FLUTTER PONY WINGAnd the other flutter pony wing in the set that was broken, but in a way I can easily fix!
Yes I stood there scraping my fingers over the bottom of the Barbie storage case I found the wings in to find the little broken off tab. To any reasonable human that little tab would look like garbage - but to me, now I have TWO ACTUAL FLUTTER PONY WINGS! It’s the first time I’ve ever seen one that wasn’t broken or a reproduction. They are made of very thin vaccuum formed plastic and if you’ve seen a photo of a flutter pony with wings, they’re likely reproductions, because it was very common for them to break when little kids played with them. There were no actual vintage ponies in sight, though!
So, fun fact, the packaging/add campaign for vintage flutter ponies says they’re good luck. Of course it’s because I put in my time and effort, but surely allowing myself to take a fun walk in an antique store before I wrote up my application helped me get in the right head space for that because…I got the job!

Scientist bakes sourdough bread with yeast derived from 4500 year old Egyptian pottery
i’m losing my mind @ this thread……historie……
also please note that this scientist is in fact the retired man who invented the xbox.
oh fuck i listened to a podcast that was interviewing him and the process he went through to make this bread, ologies with allie ward
like he went through full on clean room levels of prep to ensure that this was 100% yeast from old egypt and had to bend over backwards to ensure everything involved was uncontaminated
he then revealed that the original xbox logo…is a sourdough boule
@ladyyatexel this is a stretch for a post-of-interest for you but here is go nonetheless
No Stretch At All, this is shit I love <4
This image in particular seemed suited for this treatment.
I was asked about Garak/Bashir buttons last night and tried this this morning. I wanted to make it just the right size for you to be able to see both of their arms on the front of the buttons.
Yell if this one interests you! I’m setting up a Shop situation on Ko-fi to handle the buttons and may be doing the same with the paintings that didn’t go during the Patreon Period.
“That sounds like a good idea…….”-“Is there something bothering you with the idea?”-“No, the idea is GOOD…..🙂”
Can someone explain this to me?
Old people use quotation marks to indicate emphasis, as a substitute for italics (which many of them could not produce on the old typewriters they learned to write on), whereas young people use them to indicate sarcasm or falseness. They’re used as “scare quotes”.
And old people use ellipses simply to indicate a pause, or for some other incomprehensible reason I’m not aware of. But young people use ellipses to indicate passive-aggression.
So an old person could type something like:
how are things going with your “boyfriend”….
and what they mean is
How are things going with your boyfriend? [Im so excited for you, sweetie, and I wanna hear about it]
But a young person would interpret that sentence as
How are things going with your so-called boyfriend…. [I say, while seething with contempt for him and possibly for you too]
The linguistic difference across generations is beautifully explained here thank you

Livia Marin, Chilean born artist imagines a whole new world for cups and teapots in her series of ceramic Nomad Patterns. The artist deflected by making ceramic bathing, a very surreal way, in flasks covered and sagging patterns. A fabulous clash between tradition and modernity.
Livia Marin has reshaped service porcelain teapots and cups by giving them a molten appearance … all without damaging or changing the patterns inscribed on objects!
