fingalsanteater asked: Hello. I probably followed you for DS9 stuff BUT NOW I SEE YOU ARE WATCHING BABYLON 5 and I'm so excited. It's one of my favorite shows. I watched it last year for the first time and it kind of ate my soul for about eight months. I see you really like Londo? He's my fave character and just.. *hugs* cos you're gonna need them. :D I love reading people's reactions to the show, so keep on live blogging. You can talk to me about the show anytime, if you want.

Hello!  I REALLY love B5.  And Londo, well I think ladyyatexel ‘s fan art had put me in a good mood about him and ultimately it was what convinced me to watch the show.  Then by the third episode, the way he was with Adira…  I mean as a romantic hero he’s pretty perfect.

I’m pretty sure I’m in for a world of pain vis a vis Londo.  I’m only through episode 12, but I’m going to play clairvoyant here and try to predict his arc while hoping I’m wrong.  I think Londo is a very important Centauri.  He looks and acts like a courtier.  He reminds me of Valmont from Les Liaisons Dangereuses in his jaded ennui, even if he does as yet lack Valmont’s casual cruelty.  Yes I think he will be presented with some choices.  Terrible choices.  I don’t yet know what he fights for, but I think he will get it, and in an incredibly pyrrhic victory.  It will taste like ashes in his mouth for the rest of his days.   He will make those terrible choices and I think they will cost him his soul. What worries me the very real possibility that Vir is the walking, talking personification of Londo’s soul.  As much as I love Londo, I don’t want sweet, kind, innocent Vir who is also pretty perfect in his own way to be the victim of Londo’s folly.

Oddly enough, I don’t think G’Kar will kill him even though they keep bringing up Londo’s ‘True Dream.’  All they do is fight and threaten to murder one other, but I still get the sense they kind of actually like each other too.  Besides, if G’Kar wants revenge in the end, and I’m at all right in my predictions, he would be best served by leaving Londo to rot in whatever undoubtedly opulent cesspit he’s dug for himself.

I think I got my one almost happy ending in Garak.  He survived the war, became a better, less cruel person, and returned to Cardassia to rebuild what was left of his home.  Since then, I’ve never gone into another show actually expecting a fave to bring me anything but pain.  Not that I cry any less over their inevitable fall from grace…..

Some of me is like ‘Oh, sweetie, let me hug you,’ about this post, but most of me is delighted that my aggressiblogging and excessive fanart had its intended effect~~   I love that my work can send other people down the same roads I love, that’s delightful~~  <3

Good luck, friend~!   My life was totally ruined by Londo Mollari to the point that my performance at work suffered for two weeks, so you are in for A Thing.
