So here’s some of the frenzied thinking I’ve been doing about She-Ra dolls because I’m just really excited. @indigobluerose has borne the brunt of all this for you guys, enduring me texting vaguely at all hours for like the last two weeks or more, screaming about features of a doll line that isn’t out yet. All fantasizing done with full awareness that Mattel can and most likely will disappoint me, haha. But it is fun to dream for this little while~
Is Bow using Hunter Huntsman’s face sculpt? Is SHE-RA?? Entirely possible they have new faces, but we know Mattel likes to recycle and wow, those look Really Similar when I compare.
Bodies like DCSHG or maybe now bodies like Wild Hearts Crew? Could Glimmer get the same body as Jacy in this scenario instead of them ignoring her shorter and thicker body? My Superhero Girl dolls are taller than the WHC, Mattel could make She-Ra enormous by basing her from one of Superheroes and the others from Wild Hearts bases. Again totally reasonable that they could have their own thing, but why make new things when you can recycle, says Mattel.
Shadow Weaver looks so much like she has at least one Monster High hand.
Are they gonna make a Swiftwind and have it feel properly like the 80s and 90s when every doll had an accompanying Horse? I find him super annoying, but he’d be a beautiful toy, I bet! Plus, people understand that unicorns are good lately, and even though I could have told them that 30 years ago, it’s a profitable thing to do now, apparently.
Imagining an Entrapta with hair like the Tangled the Series Rapunzel and her poseable pony tail thing. A Scorpia with the right proportions and claw/thumb articulation instead of wrist. Mermista with swappable legs/tail. Purfuma with an abundance of flowers that she can wear or she inflict on your other dolls. Will they be able to resist making her scented?
Scorpia and Frosta are where it gets hairy for re-use, though Scorpia more so. I’m sure there’s a child body they can modify available to them to make a suitable Frosta to match the line, but they’re gonna have to make all new parts for a buff scorpion lady and I wonder if they’ll ever consider Scorpia worth the investment. I can see them having no problem making standard action figures of the whole crew, but fashion dolls, I don’t know. I want them like mad, but I’m apparently a bad example of what people want, haha.
Glimmer probably has tinsel in her hair, right? She’s literally got sparkles right there in the character design, she’s pretty much screaming It’s Tinsel Time. I hope she has her tiny back wings and her staff.
Princess Prom Fashion Packs. Or Princess Prom line in general since Mattel hates fashion packs for anything but Barbie, but yes hello Catra in her suit! Cute dresses and shit! The kids love princesses and fashion or some shit, Mattel. You love making superhero ladies wear tutus and shit, this is made for you to do the things you do. Just not all in molded plastic with colored legs because that is a thing you do also. You should definitely still release Scorpia. Put her in a two pack with Catra and they can be the Best Dressed Dream Team. (…and then make all the details printed on a tshirt and i’ll cry about it, or make them Con Exclusives and I’ll be real upset but then also get them on the secondhand market. bitterly.)

Now I am super curious how much they share with WHC, because having the body designs ready for She Ra could also be how Mattel got WHC to production so fast?
There are some 3D models of the She-ra/Shadow Weaver dolls on Mattel’s sculpting IG! She-ra looks like a slightly modified hybrid between DCSHG and WWE, head looks similar to DC but not identical!
