i really really do hate blind boxes as a toy trend. i hate that 70% of all currently popular toys are blind boxes because that’s all that’s being made. companies know that with blind boxes they’re going to make more money because instead of somebody buying the collection of 5 things and being done with it, they have to buy 15? 20? more? just to get every part of the collection. companies create an artificial scarcity to trick children into prioritizing the toys they’re never gonna get so then they end up with 5 of the same toy and a gambling addiction.
