For something more dramatic than the last image, here’s some extremely still in progress work on a teeny tintype photo of another pair of great-great-grandparents, John and Elizabeth.  You’ve seen Elizabeth a few times, and John is the former ‘Flathead’.  Every photo of him I have features a very kind smile.  I hope the kind of person he was matches.  I get so fond whenever I see him. 

The tintypes are tiny pieces of metal with extremely blackened images on them and even the tiniest scratch shows up as quite a bit of damage because of their size.  The original of this photo is maybe 2 by 3 inches.  

All my tintype projects are just that - Projects.  So you tend to see the more casual ones I can finish in an evening rather than a lot of these intensive ones or ones with like 20 people in them.
