People on this site forget that real people write the posts that come across their dash and more often than not they’re strangers so they’ll act rude and overly familiar. It’s not playful banter or whatever you’re going for when the person does not know you
They also forget that OP gets every reply using the reply function directly. If you wanna say something to your actual friends and followers there’s the option of putting it on your reblogs, making your own post, or putting it in the tags. It’s one thing if you’ve been following someone for a long time and they know your url and are familiar with you on some level, but these are absolute complete strangers saying “I don’t know you but I was just passing by on the street and I overheard what you said and I need you and only you to know my thoughts and I’m gonna be weird about it in tone because this is a magic box that doesn’t go to a real person”. Maybe it’s just me but that’s how it comes across
I also feel sorry for the OPs whose notes are full of people saying “oooooh, that is totally *fictional character or two*”
I ended up having to block two people for having some cutesy OTP roleplay interactions back and forth on my very popular post about getting my appendix removed and how cool my surgeon was to my brother immediately after. Even with all the people yelling a thing that happened in my life was fake and done for attention, after tens of thousands of notes, the most gut punching bit was that part of my life that was a funny story about a medical procedure involving me and my brother got reblogged by an “imagine your otp” blog.
