There are Hunchback of Notre Dame Funko Pops. I know there’s pretty much everything Funko Pop, and I don’t want them so much, but I’m like, “oh? disney? are you… doing a thing with that??”
Is it time to drag Hunchback out of the vault?
Apparently there is a live action Disney remake coming and Josh Gad is the rumored lead.
I knew remake was happening and am very curious what direction it will be going and what version of the story etc etc etc etc but fucking Josh Gad???
Olaf doesn’t have to be in every movie, guys
He’s the modern Disney version of Pixar using John Ratzenberger in everything
And Disney Animation’s Alan Tudyk, evidently.
I was feeling a little excited for live action Hunchback, honestly. Hoping they’d go more like the musical and adjust the wildly fluctuating tone problem the original Disney film had. Remove the gargoyles or make them very clearly figment of Q’s imagination, shifting and fluctuating as his mental state does. Continue pretending “A Guy Like You” is not a thing. Keep the score under penalty of death, you know, basic shit, haha. I understand this is expecting too much, I just really love Hunchback and have distant fantasies of Esmeralda briefly getting more merchandising attention because I want to be 10 again and see it all over the shelves
And it won’t be good and will likely be soulless like the others but I’ve always kinda thought the movies they needed to “remake” were the less appreciated ones and not the most beloved things they own. Give a failed thing a better chance rather than just making something that everyone is gonna go “Oh, i liked the original better’ about. Remove slapstick from Hunchback, apply more evenly to Hercules. Expand Atlantis.
I’ll always prefer animation but…i dunno, give second chances to things that had obvious reception problems you could learn from, not your award winners?
