A previous owner had styled her to be the body of Elizabeth Short, who was made famous for the horrible way she was murdered, with her body cut in half and her face cut ear to ear.  She was in her 20′s and very pretty and just wanted to be in movies and have a steady boyfriend and was a real person who shouldn’t have been ultimately remembered for the ghoulish things that someone else did to her.   The murder is unsolved and pictures of her corpse are just out there on the internet and are more numerous than pictures of her as a living person.

I’d wanted this doll since first seeing it, and when she showed up on eBay like this, I thought I’d be doing good on several levels by getting her –  I could work on a nice Project and learn some things, remove a distasteful depiction of a real specific woman’s death, and get a doll I really wanted.

So that’s the DollZone Project Doll!   I don’t know what her name will be yet, or what her new look will be.  I have several ideas, but none concrete.  It’ll be something to think about while I remove all the little bits of paint still left between her fingers and in all of her little deteriorated spaces.
