I remember you saying you we having eye problems and I thought maybe optic neuritis or something they treat with oral steroids. But JFC this injection RIGHT into the EYE is a thing directly out of my nightmares. Guh, it sounds so traumatising to have to go through. Strength be with you
They thought it was optic neuritis for several months, which just gave it more time to get bigger.
When they finally got it diagnosed as what it is, they were like, ‘oh, yeah, we’ll just give you Avastin’, and I was :D and then they said, ‘that’s an injection in the eye’ and we abruptly switched to D:
I am now pretty used to it, though. It’s done on a low spot on my eye, so I never see the needle coming at me or anything like that. There’s just a weird pinch after they’ve numbed my eyes for 45 minutes. The worst part is the spring they use to keep my eyelids open and the taste of the antiseptic stuff running down my throat after it has had a trip through my sinuses.
I take the day off work every time I have the procedure so I spend the rest of the injection day with eyedrops and naps. My eye looks like I’ve got a serious allergic reaction for the rest of the day and my eye aches like it is bruised and tomorrow I’ll wake up looking and feeling normal.
Unless it ends up like That One Time that I woke up with my eye sealed shut and in agonizing pain for three days after. :D
anyway, yeah, i need this to start getting fucking better a little faster now. The distortion began to happen last year in March so I’m coming up on an anniversary for bullshit and I’m Over It~
