Today is my Great Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Clarissa’s, birthday!  She was born on the 8th of February, 1876, 144 years ago.  She is the oldest of 15 children, and had 9 herself, the last of which is my great-grandfather.  

So here are some pictures of her I’ve done work on, vaguely chronological.  I have a few more of her, but they still need some work.   The first two/four are before and afters, the others are:

Elizabeth (L) and her sister Abbie ®, a picture that was physically cropped in the album so the person next to her is a mystery!, and Elizabeth (center) with her mother, Mary Melissa ®, and her daughter, Verne (L).   Elizabeth looks more like her father than her mother, but her sister Abbie really resembles their mother, haha.

I don’t know much about her life except that at some point she was nicknamed Lizzie, and she spent a lot of her adult life with her community women’s church groups and visiting with her siblings and children.  A thank you for the large outpouring of love and support was published in the paper for the response to her funeral.

She died at a young age in 1921, when my great-grandfather was four or five, so there was not a lot of information passed down through him to get to me, but my heart is fond of her from all this history I’ve seen and work I’ve done on her photos.
