Been happening to me, too. I’d worried they were showing posts out of order or something.This would have to be so out of order they were seeing things from 2012.
I always have like a mini-crisis when something that old gets a flurry of popularity because then my heart is screaming for people to look at my more current things too and get frustrated that the newer things aren’t the things getting the attention (I say, knowing my eye thing has caused me to not make a huge bulk of thing in the last year)
Yeah, it’s been stuff from 4-5 years ago for me.
I wonder if the suggested posts thing could be the culprit? (I never pay attention to those when they pop up)
It’s possible! I think a lot is just from someone newly getting into something and digging into fandom tags or blogs where my work was particularly densely packed for the most part. I’m glad when people like my work at all but I always feel kind of bad when they like everything from 8 years ago and then follow me because nothing is going to be the content they were after. I guess unless they’re waiting for palette request meme adventures to crop up again.
Recently some people have been liking and reblogging things that I completely forgot about and so that’s been a really surreal experience. I see the thumbnail and I’m like I have absolutely no recognition of what this is and that I open it up and it’s like oh wow I’m sure did make that thing 6 years ago, damn, look at it.
Either way I’m trying to commit to making more art despite my eyeball, so hopefully I will have more newer stuff to urge people to look at instead haha
