Would you mind sharing (if you know) how long it was between approval and receiving your payment? I was on unemployment last year so I had to “reactivate” my claim and it was approved but when I check the status it takes me to the page that I filled out to restart my claim, except none of the answers are filled in… I’m going to try and give them a call today, and I know each state is different, but who knows if I’ll get through…

I filed when my office officially stopped paying us, so Apr 19th, I got a PIN in the mail about a week and half later, which I would use to access the site and actually claim that I had been not working.  I was not allowed to put in a ‘Hi, I would like money now, for real,’ claim until two weeks after the initial claim, which i did May 2nd, a Sunday.   I got paid direct deposit the following Wednesday (yesterday) for both weeks.

My state is very ‘please don’t call us for the love of god, just file and email us and we’ll figure it out’.  I had to send them an email telling them I wrote the wrong start date in because I confused it with my workman’s comp claim, but when I went to file, it had been corrected, so someone is working behind the scenes and just doesn’t have time to send emails like, “all done!”, poor thing.

My neighbor, however, said hers took eight weeks to start.  I honestly think I benefit in this case by working for the state and not a private company they have to go out and get info for.  My money is just coming from a different part of the state budget now, haha.

I hope yours is an easy fix!  I absolutely loathe my state job down to a molecular level, but I have experienced the few perks it offers in, ironically, the time I am not doing it.
