Catra’s arc was never about “finding herself” or “learn to let go of her obsession with Adora”, Catra’s arc was about acknowledging her feelings for Adora and understanding that Adora didn’t abandon her because she didn’t love her, but because she made the choice to accept her destiny as She-Ra. Catra’s path into madness was literally because of her repressed feelings towards Adora and the self-hatred Adora’s choice created in her. That’s why Catra ending up with Adora is not the same as the start. She didn’t have to let go of Adora to grow and heal, she needed to stop denying her feelings, and literally the moment she did so, the moment she realized she still loved her, it was the moment she realized that she needed to act to try to redeem herself.
