I was at WalMart yesterday, unfortunately, and since I have been trying Outrageously Hard to not go anywhere I didn’t need to for food/supplies reasons, I have not been to a WalMart since the Before Time.  But I went the other day because I needed some both food and random kitchen things that I had broken.

I am trying my damndest to follow all the stickers on the floor showing which way to move through aisles.  No one else appears to be doing this.  I check multiple times that I’m going the same way the arrow is.  I make multiple loops around the same few aisles to get the things I need because I’m trying so hard to follow these.

I got to the pet supplies aisle to get some things for Onyx, and there was a woman standing at the end of the aisle where the cat things are.

“Am I in your way?” she says, as I approach.

I tried to joke and swung my cart out of her way around the corner of the aisle. “No, I’m just trying not to be in everyone else’s way!”

And she just goes, “Yeah, god, that’s just… me.  That’s me everyday.”

and i’m just like i don’t think i’m equipped to handle this realization for either of us in a WalMart in front of the Salmon Temptations and Catnip Greenies
