Like full offense but i definitely think Barbie needs to halve her offerings, be put up a slightly higher price point and put actual effort and a budget into the dolls.
I genuinely think it’s irresponsible that Mattel is producing low quality garbage that’s guaranteed to pollute the Earth at a maximum quantity
Also yes this means I want Mattel to produce less white dolls. Despite all their noise about diversity, Blonde skinny white Barbie still makes up a huge portion of the lines.
But also I do think we don’t need like, 5 budget line dolls (Dreamtopia, careers, fashionistas, swim suit, extreme budget) every year that totals like 30 to 40 dolls being produced just so Mattel can saturate the market space. It’s getting to a point that it’s absolutely irresponsible to have that much poor quality items be the only thing to your branding.
…now I’m wondering how much of this is purely Mattel’s idea, and how much is driven by what Walmart thinks they’ll sell best…
