Hi, I have a question that isn't exactly pony-related, but is toy horse adjacent. I have the big (1/6 scale) articulated "Spirit" horse from Spirit Riding Free, and I would like to customize him to be closer to the 2002 movie Spirit. One thing I'm debating though, is wether to try to replace his plastic mane and tail with fiber for a less stiff look. I was wondering about brushed yarn, but I've never worked with it before. Is there anything you would recommend for this sort of thing?

Um….. Thinking about brushed yarn, it’s not likely to be long enough for a 1/6th scale horse’s tail unless you used some sort of base you could add more yarn to and made it layered.
Boosting for others’ advice because this one is outside my wheelhouse.
Hello, hello! This ones for me, I think~!
Mohair, my Friend. Mohair. Breyer customizers have been poking at this one a lot lately, and the results can be hecking amazing. It’s just the right scale, and falls in a really nice, natural way-because it is.
(Images are, alas, not mine. But for real, come hang out with the horse nerds, we’re all pretty friendly.)
