Someone requested decayed walls, which is my favorite, and I thought of the wonderful project by architect, Pöppler, & vintage furniture dealer, Hofstetter, which was a popup display in the most wonderful space that deteriorated behind the Iron Curtain. I remember being so disappointed when I found that it wasn’t a home.
The curated space was called Between Time and the building hosting the temporary showcase was simply known by its address, Wallstrasse 85. (It was scheduled for complete reno, which most likely has taken place.)
The showcase demonstrated the contrast between the decaying interior of the building and the sleek surfaces of the exhibits, and it was breathtaking.
It was a place where the furniture looked like it stood ageless and pristine in a building that was been ripped apart by the relentless passing of history and time.
The faded glamour of Wallstrasse 85 made for the ideal backdrop for a showcase that combined vintage and modern design with art and decoration.
Isn’t it amazing how the art and fixture tie in w/the color & texture of the wall?
Modern furniture and color against an old worn wall- notice the painting under the floral picture.
I wonder if there are any photos of what it looks like now.

Some of us see a deeper beauty in decay. I appreciate the walls more than modern furniture- it has no soul, my friend kezenani.
