Pictures of the Hasbro Sisu doll out of box so we can finally see her shoes. I can’t wait to see all that big scraggly iridescent dragon hair beautifully animated on-screen, but it looks like a huge tangled mess on the doll. What is that, purposefully matted super-thin kanekalon, rooted mohair, actual yarn, or what?? With tinsel, no less. I could definitely see a bunch of young kids breaking off plastic doll comb teeth into it and yanking her bald in a week, tops. I really wanna see what the Disney Store Raya And The Last Dragon dolls look like in comparison.
It looks to me 100% like fake fur–sooo, not rooted as much as “glued on like a troll doll”
and, knowing modern doll design, the scalp will be recessed to compensate for the bulk of the base fabric, so even if the fake fur is peeled away, rerooting might be a challenge to get to look right at the hairline
As an aside, does the name Sisu have meaning in whichever language would be pertinent to the setting of this movie? Because I keep thinking of the Finnish word sisu, which is kinda…stick-to-itiveness
