OK, so to add on to the reason we should all adore Cliff Stoll— he’s an absolute hoot. You should all read his book The Cuckoo’s Egg (Wikipedia link) that he wrote in the 80s about his time working with with old school tech and discovering a hacker. I highly recommend, it’s got to be one of my favorite books. And if you don’t have the energy for that in you, at least dig through his website. It’s got so many little gems.
Anyways, when I ordered a kleine Klein bottle from him, he emailed me a bunch of pictures of it before he packaged it up and shipped it off. Here is one of my personal favorites with the Escargot Begonias of his wife’s garden in the background.
Honestly, it was near impossible to contain my excitement and keep the gift a secret from @morrak. I’m surprised I kept my composure for like three weeks.
