Lot of people like, ‘this doesn’t sound real/fair/legal,’ but working for the state is just Like That. No one knows anything is happening until the moment It Is and it’s all batshit crazy. I was/am regularly employed by a state agency that I hate, and in emergency situations, the governor has the jurisdiction to rearrange us.
