It’s so weird the toy manufacturers are still making things with color change functions as though those functions still work the way they used to in the 90s and prior

Back then all the color change stuff that I had stayed color changed until you used the opposite temperature water again. So it made sense to use it for stuff like make over heads, where you could change the color of the lipstick or the nails and have it not just be something that vanishes again in 10 seconds. Sometimes not even that. I can’t count the number of times I have sat through watching someone open some LOL dolls just to have his background noise and heard them struggling to keep the color change on for long enough for the camera to catch.

Just feels kind of like if it’s only going to change color when you submerge it and then immediately fucking bounce then maybe it should just only be on like mermaid toys ( which you play with, as toy commercials dictate, in a clear several gallon fish tank)

I haven’t looked into the reasons why it changed though I’m sure it was something like safety thresholds of water temperatures and or the chemicals involved or something like that. I just miss it staying until you changed it.

This has been my random observation after looking with fond loving admiration at my cute plastic cat toys with color change manicures.
