these two have been in my “fix the shitty paint job” box for ages.
The first girl is a boring Hasbro Sindy that I wanted to see if I could make look more interesting. My first attempt was kinda grainy, new attempt it smoother but it’s kinda a dull sculpt underneath so hmmm. I might try to do one with bigger eyes but they have sculpted eye wells which is a bit limiting.
The other doll is a 87 Hasbro who I named “Stabbitha” because her previous two repaints made her look like she wanted to shiv a bitch. She looks less stabby but still a little bit like she’s gonna pull a knife outta that bag…. <_<
I did her eyes like vintage Sindy dolls.
She has a lot of staining, she was an experimental doll who had her hair acrylic paint dyed and a lot of that leeched into her head and then after several repaints she has stains all over her head I can’t get off with scrubbing and it was hurting my fingers.
But so long as you don’t look too close I think she’s cute.
I have always loved the 87 Hasbro sculpt, it’s very versatile.
I’m getting better at keeping a nice steady line with my acrylics. Not as crisp as i’d like up close but looks good enough in photos.
But i’ll get there. Just gotta keep on practicing right?
For the time being, i’m fairly happy with these two. Especially Stabitha’s new look.
I’m a big fan of dolls who look prepared to commit a stabbing. 🖤
