A movie I watched obsessively as a kid, as much as The Last Unicorn. I feel an overwhelming need to redesign the cover of this thing, it is ugly on its own but is also just Wrong in every way.

I used to rent this one all the time and it felt barely real. I recognized the style and feelings from Unicorn and was just transported and enchanted every time. And then the book felt like aBrian Froud fairies book and I was just in a constant state of weird yearning for magic that felt just out of reach in time and space. Goodtimes
ladyyatexel said: @lostthehat correct on all fronts! It is a journey of a movie and absolutely no where near the high color silly romp on the cover. It hits me in many of the same places as the last unicorn in that I’m not sure how to feel about things, which is why I think it endures for me. I think unicorn is the better movie but this one is so overlooked, it’s still one of my treasured favorites. I bought the book as an adult after constantly borrowing it from the library as a kid

lostthehat said: You know what’s weird…I don’t think I could tell you a thing about the plot of the movie but my mind just automatically said ‘ah yes. That’s one of the rankin bass animations’ and saying that to you I hope I’m right but I’m not switching apps to double check oh well. I remember dragons and also maybe time travel being a thing in this movie? I might also be mentally mixing some mental pictures up with quest for Camelot which I LOVED as a kid.
