Onyx appears to have improved overnight!
We will keep an eye out for anything dodgy but I think if we go through the day and nothing happens then we should be in the clear and we will not have to traumatize everyone in the Tri-County area with a vet visit
For those of you just joining me, Onyx is my beloved fluff monster with great eyeshadow:

@thephilosophersapprentice I think it’s common for a lot of cats to have thinning hair in that spot which can look very similar at a distance, but Onyx ’s fur is full, it just is that color. There is some light brindling on other parts of their body and so I suspect they may be a highly melanistic tabby. Tabby with a goth phase haha
