Thanks! I kind of feel like Millie is extra maligned just because she’s never painted differently. The sculpt seems fine to me, she’s just always painted as the dullest palest limpest possible thing.
I didn’t even know there WERE other versions of this, I totally would have gotten the June had I known.
I’m not good at hair fiber identification, unfortunately. I’m better at it when I’m rerooting because I have to do so much with the hair, but figuring it out beyond Not Kanekelon on factory dolls is not a thing I’m super good at.
It doesn’t feel like the disgusting mess that was the blue haired Extra doll, at least.
Yeah, they didn’t announce the others when they announced Millie.
There is June in a dark tan skintone and another (I can’t remember the sculpt) in an AA skintone.
I totally agree about Millie. I still really like one I repainted and gave a undercut a few years ago. Mattel just doesn’t know what to do with her because they haven’t really done make-up since she was released (though that looks to be changing).
That is good to hear about the hair. I’ll have to keep an eye out for her in stores because I can *typically* tell polypropylene hair if I can see it lol

WalMart. I was buying some groceries for delivery and, because the internet algorithm, the site was like, ‘Hey, did you know dolls and rainbows and shaved head are available along with your toothpaste and favorite cereal?’ I didn’t even think to look for other options at the time because, like you said, they weren’t even announced, so I thought this was a Millie-only experience.
The June faced one is Great, I’d have loved to repaint her to suit this hair.
