This is the second in a pair of anthologies I made for @megabadbunny. The anthologies contain her Doctor Who stories completed 2015-2019 and were sorted by story rating. The finished pictures of the companion G&T rated stories anthology can be found, here.
Case Design: I had two thoughts; one, this is Doctor Who, so I wanted to keep with the galaxy theme I had used in my first anthology and, two, since MBB writes primarily stories about the Doctor’s companion Rose I wanted to incorporate a rose somehow. When I found this galaxy rose cross stitch pattern I knew I had my cover image.
The cross stitch was, unsurprisingly, the longest step in making this book and took me about three weeks to make. I wanted to recess the pattern on the cover so as to protect it so I used a second piece of book board and made a window for it.
I did a purple speckled edge and used the rainbow thread that I stich the signatures with to make the headbands. I was a fool and forgot to take pictures of the end pages, but here is a little boomerang of them at least.
Typesetting: Since the anthologies are a set I followed the same parameters as last time. Titles are in the Doctor Who font and are repeated beneath in Gallifreyan. Main body text is Bahnschrift Light Condensed. I used 3-D glasses to indicate scene breaks and a TARDIS at the end of each story.
Here are the two anthologies together. I look forward to 2025 when I get to make her the second of each series with the new stories.
