Eurovision’s big broadcasts are geolocked because they hate us want that fully sanctioned ad revenue for countries who are licensing or broadcasting on special networks and channels. I get around this by using a VPN and popping myself into Japan, usually. This is just because the speeds tend to be faster there and in Korea than anywhere else, and they’re not usually on the ‘naughty countries who should be watching on TV’ list. I also haven’t had television since I lived with my parents, so I could not watch it on TV anyhow.

I have a basic ass free VPN that I installed literal years ago almost entirely for Eurovision purposes. It took some tinkering to get it to go forth and do the thing, so if you want to get it set up, I recommend doing this well in advance of the contest so you know if and how it works. Also if you don’t plan to keep one, many have free trials you could take advantage of for just the event. I’ve only ever had the one, so I don’t have any recommendations, unfortunately, but there are several popular ones these days that should help you out.

The semi-final is over for today, so there’s nothing to watch live but my extremely riveting blogging, but the big final event is on Saturday, 3PM Eastern time in the US and Canada, translate as needed across the continent. Non-live recordings of the semis are available now as well, also geolocked, so VPN still required for maximum fun. Once you get that set up, behold the Eurovision YouTube page , find the Grand Final video and be prepared to just yell and have a good time for reasons you can barely identify.
